We like kids, which is nice. Kinda weird though. It's like saying "I like people, for a little while."

Well we're back and writing again.  Our fan(s?) kept nudging us to blog again and we were a little afraid to disappoint them (her).
Knife-wielding maniac/blog enthusiast
I know it's taken us a while to update.  You may think that that's because we've been really busy with school or field work or just generally having a good time.  Allow me set you straight.  It's because we got back to Cleveland in January and then nothing happened for about 3 months...

Mercifully in March, Molly and Chloe showed up on our doorstep to brighten up our gray Cleveland days.  I was a little worried about Chloe adjusting to the new place, but she promptly made herself at home by marking her territory on our bed with her naked bottom and stealing Nicholas' stuffed animals.

On Molly and Chloe's first day in the Cleve we went to the Children's Museum in the morning.  Chloe took to the water table at the museum like a duck to...whatever a duck takes to.

She even let Uncle Nicholas play a little bit too

After we dragged Nicholas away from the water table, we went up to the small childrens' room, which is specially designed for the little 'uns.  We managed to keep busy in there for a while.  Chloe occupied herself harvesting chicken eggs, driving the car, bogarting all of the oversized stuffed animals, and repeatedly toppling the tower that poor Nicholas kept trying to build.  What a bully she is!

After the museum we feasted on crocodile and fresh fries and took our naps.

Post-nap we took Chloe to a local and not-at-all frightening park where she showed no fear and climbed on everything, even the highest slide.

First time on a big girl swing--an enjoyment that was not hampered by the local, not-at-all scary children

Just in case the day hadn't been over-stimulating enough, when we got home we had a sidewalk chalk extravaganza!

Aunt Wendy was surprised to have been used as drawing board

Chloe, however, was amused

We all slept well that night!!

On day two we took Molly and Chloe to the Cleveland Zoo.  Below you can see them looking at the "hoala"  and admiring the poorly contained kangaroos.

Oh, and here's a monkey butt.
Ya know, just 'cause.

On day three Molly and Chloe left and then we went back to doing pretty much nothing.

Oh, and we love Cleveland now and are never going to leave!

DUH! That last part was clearly April Fools

This just in: Beverly Hills 90210, Cleveland Browns 3

Welcome to another thrilling edition of our blog.  Since last we wrote, Nicholas and I have had some splendid adventures.  Last Saturday we went to the Shaker Woods Festival, a craft show in Columbiana, OH.  The festival featured lots of beautiful arts and crafts.

Nicholas was, however, able to capture some of the more interesting exhibits at Shaker Woods.

Whatever this weirdness is
Since this didn't feel sufficiently festive for one Saturday, when we got back to Cleveland we decided to go to the Greek Festival at the local Greek Orthodox Church.  Nicholas enjoyed a variety of Greek delicacies, like gyros, spanakopita, and baklava.  Personally, I indulged in their vegetarian and dairy-free alternatives:

We had a fun time listening to the music and watching the young children do their dance routines.

This week in school Nicholas had to hand in his first project.  Based on my current understanding it was something vaguely tooth shaped that he created after many hours in the lab.

In spite of his professor's warning that many people do not pass their first project and are often made to redo it in order to obtain a satisfactory grade, Nicholas found out today that he passed with flying colors. (Alternate theory: Professor was consumed by tooth monster shown above)

I, in the mean time, have had a lot of time around the house while Nicholas is at school.  I've been making great use of all of the quiet and solitude.  It's really given me the chance to work on my writing, like this blog...or my manuscript...
Come to think of it, it's probably a good thing that my semester starts on Tuesday and I'll be out of the house more often.  But we have another weekend to enjoy together before the start of the Mandel School's academic year and we're kicking it off with a neighborhood BBQ.  We'll be sure to let you know how everything goes
